CHFF2026: Q&A – CASPER BALSLEV

Casper Balslev is a Danish director and co-founder of the Scandinavian production company New—Land. His work includes the CPH:DOX-selected documentary Elena’s Inner Fire, For Enden Af Regnbuen, which received an Ekko Shortlist Award, and the nominated short film Blaffer. Beyond filmmaking, Casper has directed music videos for internationally acclaimed artists including Alt-J, MØ and Marina & The Diamonds. He has also directed campaigns for brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, LEGO and Carlsberg, earning recognition at Cannes Lions and Eurobest. At this year’s Copenhagen Headliner Film Festival, Casper joins us for a special Headliner Talk, where he will share insights from his work across documentaries, short films, music videos and commercial filmmaking. The conversation will also offer a unique look into his creative process and the journey from short-form storytelling to his debut feature film.
