How do you tell the story of a genius like Brian Eno? The man who embraced the possibilities of technology, coined the term ambient music and helped the genre spread – alongside producing landmark albums for artists such as David Bowie, Talking Heads and U2. Director Gary Hustwit (‘Helvetica’) has congenially matched Eno’s visionary nature to create an algorithmic, immersive experience that changes every time the film is shown! Working with creative technologist Brendan Dawes, Hustwit has developed new software to create a dynamic narrative of Eno’s work and creative drive, utilising exclusive interviews with Eno and an extensive archive of unreleased footage and music. Each screening of ‘Eno’ is unique and automatically presents different scenes, sequences and music, becoming a deep reflection on the essence of creativity itself – made to be experienced live in the cinema.
