A documentary that uses the humble chair as a lens for exploring questions of design, function, and existence. Through conversations with leading architects, designers, and philosophers, the film traces how an everyday object can carry meaning within art, culture, and functionality in society. How, for example, have thinkers from Heidegger to Sartre to Nietzsche used the chair as a way to talk about being, value, and the made world. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Christian Holmsted Olesen and Niels Gammelgaard.
